There’s a rare kind of magic that stirs when a life’s calling meets its moment, and Alisha Schnakenberg’s journey into the heart of luxury wellness is a testament to that. With First & Luxe®, she pioneers a brand that’s not just about opulence, but about meaningful, personal rebirth. This is luxury reimagined — the kind that whispers peace back into the fabric of everyday life.

Alisha’s story begins in the Midwest, a region shaped by steadfast values of hard work, humility, and community. This grounding foundation guided her through a successful corporate career in global consulting and operations. She was a strategist, aligning colossal enterprises with people, processes, and purpose. Yet, beneath the structured successes, a deeper desire brewed.

"I’ve always been a builder," Alisha recalls, "but I wanted to create something personal, healing, and meaningful." Her corporate tenure taught her the art of vision, but it also compelled her to come face to face with her own aspirations — ones she had shelved for the sake of others’. This inner reckoning birthed First & Luxe®, a brand born from yearning for balance, both in Alisha’s life and in those she touches.

First & Luxe® is more than its high-end allure; it is an ethos, a gentle reminder to pause and reconnect. "Discover Your True North" is the company’s credo and Alisha’s personal mantra — a call for alignment and authenticity. "True North," she explains, "is about that inner compass that guides us back to who we are." Her journey from corporate vision to personal awakening is now reflected in each product, each fragrance, meticulously designed to lead us home to ourselves.

Navigating the startup world wasn’t without its trials. Alisha speaks candidly about the challenges of melding vision with practicality. A dreamer at heart, she had to grapple with the nitty-gritty of budgets and logistics. Yet, each obstacle was met with resilience and a refusal to dilute the brand’s essence. “Purpose must guide profit,” Alisha insists, a statement that reflects her dedication to upholding the core tenets of what First & Luxe® stands for.

Looking ahead, Alisha envisions an expansion rooted in intention. She dreams of First & Luxe® not just growing in numbers, but in resonance and reach. From spa environments to digital wellness spheres, Alisha aims to embed her brand into every facet of relaxation and refinement, ensuring that luxury always speaks the language of healing and humanity.

Her Midwestern roots consistently color Alisha’s approach to leadership. These roots imbue her with gratitude and a steady resilience, shaping a leadership style that’s marked by authenticity and empathy. In an industry often dominated by pomp, Alisha chooses presence over pretense. "In luxury, excellence is expected," she notes, "but what sets us apart is leading with heritage and humanity."

First & Luxe® stands not just as a brand but as an invitation — a call to join a community built on wellness, culture, and truth. Alisha fosters connections, whether through collaborations or community initiatives, each step taken with humility, integrity, and kindness. In every product and interaction, the essence of Alisha’s journey is undeniable, a reminder that luxury isn’t what you have but how you make people feel.

FEATURING Alisha Schnakenberg

Below is our interview with Alisha Schnakenberg.

{Introduction}

Share a bit of history about Alisha Schnakenberg. Why did your choose to start a business?

I’ve always been a builder — of systems, of teams, and of ideas that bring people together. For more than 15 years, I worked in global consulting, operations, and resource management, helping large organizations align people, processes, and purpose. I loved the strategy, but something deeper in me wanted to create — something that felt personal, healing, and meaningful.

Coming from the Midwest, I was raised with values of hard work, humility, and community. Those roots keep me grounded, no matter where I am. But as I advanced in my corporate career, I realized that while I was helping others build their visions, I had placed my own on hold. I wanted to design a life — and a brand — that reflected calm, intention, and authenticity.

That’s where First & Luxe® was born. It started as a desire to bring balance into my own life and evolved into a company that helps others do the same. I didn’t want to create products that simply looked beautiful; I wanted to craft experiences that felt beautiful — moments that reminded people to pause, breathe, and reconnect with themselves.

Starting this business was more than a professional pivot — it was a personal awakening. It allowed me to merge my business acumen with my creative purpose, to build something that honors both luxury and legacy. Today, First & Luxe is a reflection of that journey — rooted in mindfulness, guided by innovation, and powered by purpose.“Discover Your True North” isn’t just a tagline — it’s the heartbeat of First & Luxe® and a reflection of my own journey.

For me, True North represents that inner compass we all carry — the quiet voice that guides us back to who we are, even when life pulls us in a hundred directions. It’s about alignment, purpose, and peace. Before I started this brand, I spent years helping global organizations navigate structure and scale. But deep down, I realized that real success comes from being aligned — not just operationally, but spiritually.

When I founded First & Luxe, I wanted every product, every scent, and every experience to help people return to that same sense of clarity. Whether it’s lighting a candle after a long day or stepping into a spa infused with our fragrances, I wanted to create moments that feel like coming home to yourself.

The phrase also speaks to my belief that luxury should be mindful — not about excess, but about elevation. To me, discovering your True North is about redefining what luxury means: peace of mind, emotional balance, and the freedom to live authentically.

Every decision I make — from partnerships to product design — is filtered through that lens. It keeps the brand centered, intentional, and timeless. Because when you know your True North, you don’t chase trends — you create legacies.

What personal challenges have you faced in aligning your vision with business realities?

One of the greatest challenges I’ve faced has been learning how to balance vision and reality — to hold on to the heart of my dream while navigating the practical demands of running a business. I’m a visionary by nature. I see the full picture — the feeling, the experience, the legacy — long before it takes shape. But translating that vision into budgets, logistics, and timelines can be humbling.

When I first started First & Luxe®, I had this clear sense of what I wanted people to feel: peace, beauty, and intention. But building that experience required structure, capital, and patience. There were times when I had to make difficult decisions — to scale back an idea, delay a launch, or find new partners who truly understood the brand’s depth and purpose.

I’ve also learned that growth doesn’t happen in a straight line. There were moments when I questioned whether the market was ready for a brand that blended mindfulness, technology, and luxury. But I refused to compromise the essence of what First & Luxe stands for. Instead, I chose to evolve the business model — to merge creativity with strategy, and emotion with execution.

Every challenge has taught me resilience and reinforced my belief that purpose must guide profit. The vision is what keeps me inspired; the business realities are what keep me sharp. Together, they’ve helped me create a brand that’s not just beautiful — it’s sustainable, intelligent, and built to last.

How do you envision First & Luxe evolving in the next five years?

When I look at the next five years for First & Luxe®, I see expansion with intention. Growth for me isn’t just about numbers — it’s about alignment, innovation, and impact.

I see First & Luxe continuing to evolve as a house of wellness innovation — a brand that sits at the intersection of luxury, technology, and human connection. On one side, we’ll deepen our roots in the spa and hospitality world — expanding partnerships with hotels, airlines, and airport lounges that want to offer travelers meaningful, restorative experiences. On the other, we’ll advance our technology platforms like Echelon™ and Reprieve™, building intelligent systems that redefine how wellness fits into everyday life and work.

In five years, I see First & Luxe in airports across the country, inside select luxury hotels, and integrated into digital wellness ecosystems — connecting people not just to products, but to peace. I also see the brand becoming a leader in purpose-driven luxury, showing that sustainability, diversity, and elegance can coexist seamlessly.

Philanthropy will always remain a pillar of our growth. I envision First & Luxe funding community wellness programs, youth initiatives, and women-led innovation. I want our success to ripple outward — to inspire other women, especially those from underrepresented communities, to build boldly and lead beautifully.

Ultimately, my vision is to create a global legacy brand — one that represents more than self-care. A brand that reflects what’s possible when luxury becomes a language of healing, intelligence, and humanity.

What leadership qualities do you believe are essential for womens' success in luxury brands?

In the world of luxury, leadership isn’t just about vision — it’s about presence. For women, especially in spaces that have historically been defined by others, I believe success comes from mastering the balance between grace and grit.

The first essential quality is authenticity. True luxury begins with truth — knowing who you are, what you stand for, and refusing to dilute that for acceptance. When women lead from authenticity, they don’t just create brands — they create movements that feel real, emotional, and magnetic.

The second is resilience. Building a luxury brand means operating in an environment that demands excellence at every turn. You will face doubt, setbacks, and moments of silence before recognition arrives. But resilience — rooted in faith, discipline, and self-belief — is what allows us to rise above the noise and stay consistent when others would quit.

The third is emotional intelligence. Luxury is an emotional experience. It’s about how something makes you feel — not just what it costs. Great leaders understand that empathy is a form of power. When you can read a room, sense energy, and lead with compassion, you build loyalty that no marketing campaign can buy.

And finally, strategic courage. Women in luxury must not be afraid to take up space, to innovate boldly, and to make decisions that merge intuition with intelligence. The most successful leaders I know — and the woman I strive to be — are the ones who trust their vision even when it’s ahead of its time.

In luxury, excellence is expected — but what sets women apart is our ability to lead with heart, heritage, and humanity. That’s where real power lives.

How have your Midwestern roots influenced your leadership style within First & Luxe?

My Midwestern roots are the quiet strength behind everything I do. Growing up in the heartland taught me values that have become the foundation of my leadership — humility, integrity, kindness, and consistency. Those principles guide how I build relationships, manage teams, and grow First & Luxe®.

There’s a certain steadiness that comes from being raised in the Midwest — a belief that hard work, character, and community matter just as much as talent. That mindset keeps me grounded, even as I lead in luxury spaces where the pace is fast and the expectations are high. No matter how sophisticated or global the brand becomes, I always return to those simple, honest values that shaped me.

In leadership, that translates to leading with people, not over them. I believe in collaboration, fairness, and showing genuine appreciation. I listen deeply. I treat every partnership — whether it’s with a global hospitality group or a local artisan — with respect and authenticity.

My roots also gave me a sense of gratitude and empathy that fuels the culture of First & Luxe. I’ve never lost sight of where I come from, and I think that perspective allows me to lead with both strength and softness. It reminds me that success isn’t just about achievement — it’s about how you achieve it.

At the end of the day, my Midwestern foundation keeps me balanced in an industry built on aspiration. It’s my reminder that luxury isn’t just about what you have — it’s about how you make people feel.
